From a mental health standpoint alone, the rosary has proven to be very helpful to me lately.

I say lately because that was not always the case.

There was a time when the devotion would drive me absolutely bananas.

What changed for me?

Basically that I got involved with the Knights of Columbus a couple years ago and just found that praying it in a group with these people worked for me.

Now I can even pray it on my own now and then.

Very helpful for me and not weird in any way.

As long as it helps me live a better and healthier life then I will continue with it.

I'm not into self torture or anything like that.
