Poetic prayer for a return to normalcy

Slumped I sit

Washed with sin

How can I

Get back in

To the land

Where people speak

By the rippling

Babbling creek

Did I answer

God’s Own call

Way before

That fateful Fall

When the leaves

Were turning red

Round the corner

Winter’s dead

Help me plan

Help me heal

Life is heavy

Do not seal

Me into

This tomb I find

Soul enclosed

My fettered mind
