Morning prayer... a reflection on new beginnings. (Poem)

ree

Dearest God I turn to thee

The altogether Perfect One

Sometimes waking here right now

Feels like it just weighs a ton

Money, people, things to pray for

How I'd like to sit and hear Your

Kind words re-assuring me

That this will pass and we will be free

Right now I have taken time

To sit and offer this small rhyme

Yes to You but it soothes my soul

Just don't let me play the fool

It is so humiliating yes

When I am not at my best

But for You I would go

Through to life and like wind flow

Through the leaves ready to fall

Autumn's here and I feel small

Oh but courage do I seek

You have promised me so meek

Sinner yes I am for sure

Your the only One that cures.

All the weakness, sin and doubt

Okay, I won't sit and pout

Up and at 'em here we go

Through that wonderful open door

In my body, soul or mind

Out there is where I will find

You my savior and much more

Without You my life's a bore

Calm my nerves and cool my jets

My heart on the altar set

Not for violence or malice

Just the Bread and Saving Chalice

Living Word I long for Thee

Help me settle down and see
