A Christmas 2019 Poem by Daniel A. Popovich

I could not be much further away

From the manger where Christ He lay

As an Infant looking out into

The eyes of those who prayed

That He would be the Promised One

The King that would bring peace

To restless souls that could not accept

The arrival of Our Father's Son

Oh yes He was a Babe for sure

Flesh and Blood was He

We didn't know His Life would end

Upon a Torture Tree

Bring gifts bring gifts

Emmanuel

Your arrival long foretold

Return your sheep yes one by one

To Heaven's Blessed Fold

I know Good Child that I must follow

Your brave Way of the free

Accept Your Help Your Grace Good God

Given that I may see.
